More than just an all-too-perfect title, the project has received universally rave reviews, noting not only the players’ top-notch performances, but also the thoughtful and original treatment of this popular material. Harmonically complex and immediately accessible, classic and freshly inspired, “filthy and graceful” (The New York Times), this is a showcase of wildly successful contradictions not to be missed.
