Antoine Drye and the members of the Crescent City Collaboration have all individually spent time in New Orleans, the Crescent City, absorbing the language and feeling of jazz from its birth place. Collectively, the band members have worked with a wide range of musicians from New Orleans and beyond, including the Marsalis family, Harry Connick Jr., Charlie Hunter, Donald Harrison, Wessell Anderson, Wycliffe Gordon, Wilson Pickett, the Mingus Orchestra and Big Band, Joey Calderazzo, and many others. Each member can be heard on any given night in the city on the local scene, as well as internationally.
This week at Dizzy's, the CCC will explore the modern music of New Orleans' great players and composers like Harold Battiste, James Black, Ellis Marsalis, Alvin Batiste, as well as some originals by Drye and other band members, focusing on music that explores the many groove styles of New Orleans.
Late Night Sessions are the new After Hours at Dizzy’s Club Coca–Cola. Scheduled after after the headlining artist’s last set Tuesday through Saturday, these performances feature some of jazz’s most talented up and coming artists. No reservations necessary.
