Overview
-
With Klaus Mueller, piano; Fernando Saci, percussion; Alexandre Kautz, drums; Steve Wilson, sax
While he may be the least known member of the Brazilian super group Trio da Paz, Matta is arguably the most tasteful one. His too infrequent solo albums are well thought-out aural masterpieces featuring lush harmonies and contemporary Brazilian rhythms. By titling his new album, Black Orpheus, after the beloved Brazilian standard and adding sultry vocalist Leny Andrade to the mix, Matta guarantees a large following. Early reservations are highly recommended.
