In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of Essentially Ellington, (2009-2010) Jazz at Lincoln Center launched two projects to reconnect with and celebrate our EE community: EE Celebrates 15 Survey and EE Community Profiles.
EE Celebrates 15 Survey
A web-based survey captured over 600 responses representing all 15 years of EE, and the various components of community: 50% alumni, 20% Band Directors, 17% parents, and 13% General Fans. Questions explored the impact of participation in EE as well as favorite EE tunes, representative words and phrases, and ongoing participation in jazz. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and perspectives! We have compiled the survey responses and are pleased to share some highlights with you:

Essentially Ellington Community Profiles
These profiles and stories attempt to reflect the breadth of the EE community, capture highlights from our 15-year history, and demonstrate varied impact of this unique program. For each profile represented here there are hundreds more, and we are just starting to capture the ripple effects of participation in EE.
