Total # of Surveys Completed: 512 What words/phrases would you use to describe your experience with Essentially Ellington? What is your favorite Essentially Ellington piece to play and why? Moon Over Cuba. Great solo and piece in a style Duke didn't play/write much in. Has almost been lost from the jazz world. I really enjoyed it, it was something very new to all of us. "Essentially Ellington really opened up my eyes to the wonderful music of Duke Ellington. It was a great experience because it fostered a professional environment with some of the best jazz musicians in the world. In addition, the program allowed myself, and future students the opportunity to experience how leadership and teamwork can have tremendous impacts on how we approach situations in the classroom as well as in the professional environment. For me, personally, the experience was especially crucial as a basis of conversation in interviews. I was truly amazed at the number of individuals in business environments who recognized the name of the program and respected the benefits that it promotes."
