Motivated middle schoolers in the New York City area learn to play and work together every Saturday at the Middle School Jazz Academy. High school students from across the country delve deeper into Duke through the Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Program. Pre-professionals are challenged to a rigorous course of study at the Juilliard Institute for Jazz Studies. Student bands of all levels learn the fine points of swinging though our workshops and clinics. Musicians of all abilities can play the music of the masters with our print music library. HEAR IT! Jazz at Lincoln Center brings the warmth and wonder of jazz to students of every age in every borough. Wynton Marsalis helps students hear the forms and concepts that unite us all at Jazz for Young People®. Jazz in the Schools brings professional artists to your school. TEACH IT! Students in grades 4-12 learn the fundamentals of jazz and its connection to American History through the Jazz for Young People™ and NEA Jazz in the Schools Curricula. Band directors of all ages learn to teach and conduct big band music at our Band Director Academy.
