Jazz at Lincoln Center's 2008-09 Jazz in the Schools tours gave 49 performances in New York City schools throughout the five boroughs. "FINDING THE GROOVE IN YOU" with the Alvin Atkinson Quartet, "IMPROVISATION IS FOR EVERYONE" with the Erica vonKleist Quartet and "JAZZ MEANS FREEDOM" with the Eli Yamin Quintet reached over 9500 students in the NYC area. Congratulations to the touring ensembles on a successful year of engaging, interactive performances into the schools. We look forward to an exciting tour lineup for the 2009-10 season! Jazz in the Schools feature interactive performances by prominent local jazz ensembles that will bring the spirit of jazz to your students right on campus. We also have shows available in our home, Frederick P. Rose Hall at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola . In addition to the performance, any order includes one professional development (PD) workshop for teachers beforehand, which offers ideas for classroom activities and a mini-performance by the featured group.
