Dave Brubeck (16-41)
In 2004 at Alice Tully Hall, Dave Brubeck recreated his historic octet – precursor to the seminal “The Birth of the Cool”. The set features Bobby Militello on alto, Lew Soloff on trumpet and a reunion with Brubeck’s longtime arranger and clarinetist, Bill Smith. Tunes include Laura, What is this Thing Called Love, Sunny Side of the Street and a kickin’ blues. This broadcast was hosted by Ed Bradley.
