New York, NY - March 5, 2019 - Blue Engine Records announces the release of the Bolden Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with music composed, arranged and performed by Wynton Marsalis. The Bolden soundtrack features music from the film directed by Dan Pritzker (in theaters nationwide on May 3, 2019) and will be available on CD and all major digital music platforms on April 19, 2019. Additionally, a limited-edition 12” vinyl single featuring an exclusive song from the soundtrack will be available in select independent record stores as part of Record Store Day on April 13, 2019.

Dizzy's Club May 2019 Lineup Announced
New York, NY (March 20, 2019) - Performances at Dizzy’s Club in May showcase the burgeoning talent of up-and-coming artists as well as exemplary jazz veterans -- young, New Orleans-bred trombonist and vocalist Jeffery Miller (May 28) makes his Jazz at Lincoln Center headlining debut, while tenor saxophone master Houston Person (May 3-4) leads his own group in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s most intimate venue; he has performed in both The Appel Room and Dizzy’s Club to sold-out audiences. Additional highlights include JLCO trombonist Chris Crenshaw and trumpeter Marcus Printup’s performance with the Georgia Horns sextet (May 31-June 2); master of jazz guitar fundamentals Bruce Forman’s return to New York City featuring bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Matt Wilson (May 2); Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Bill Charlap with his trio featuring bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington (May 14-19; May 21-26); and vocalist Nicole Henry (May 29-30). Following a memorable run at Dizzy’s Club Late Night sessions, alto saxophonist and composer Alexa Tarantino returns to the club for her debut album release party with her quartet (May 28); joining her is pianist Christian Sands, bassist Joe Martin, and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr. The Terraza Big Band (May 13), based at Terraza 7 in Queens, makes their way to Manhattan to celebrate their debut album at Dizzy’s.

New York, NY (July 8, 2019) - In past concerts that have been described by the New York Times as being “soulful,” “evocative,” and “playing directly to the band’s strengths,” the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis performed original compositions inspired by masters of modern art including Romare Bearden, Stuart Davis, Sam Gilliam, Winslow Homer, Wifredo Lam, Norman Lewis and Piet Mondrian. On August 2, 2019, Blue Engine Records will release the studio recordings of these charts on a new album entitled Jazz and Art.

Dizzy’s Club’s 10th Annual Generations In Jazz Festival Lineup Announced
New York, NY (July 25, 2019) - September marks the tenth anniversary of Dizzy’s Club’s Generations in Jazz Festival, featuring exemplary artists across generations in 29 unique programs over 30 nights. The festival kicks off on September 2 with Ruben Fox presents Ellingtonia featuring Joy Brown, Samara Joy and Vuyo Sotashe, and closes out on October 1 with two Flip Side Sessions - Mathis Sound Orchestra (7:30 p.m.) and Endea Owens and the Cookout (9:30 p.m.)
